Kitagawa Village Onsen “Yuzu no Yado”

In the outdoor bath you
can see falling stars during
 the night, and in the early
morning you can hear the chirping
of birds and the sounds of deer.

   Kitagawa Village has a population of around 1500 people and is surrounded by the majestic mountains of Shikoku and the serene Nahari River. The onsen can be reached in around 20 minutes from Route 55. The natural springs were discovered 80 years ago, and due to the abundance of sodium and carbon ions in the water, they have come to be called “Fountain of Youth”.

 

   During yuzu season, you can enjoy the “Yuzu Bath” (the time the Yuzu Bath is open changes depending on each year’s harvest of yuzu, so please confirm its availability ahead of time). The excellent service of the attentive staff adds another layer of appeal to this wonderful onsen.

 

 

・Private bath – The private bath has both indoor and outdoor baths prepared, so you can easily relax with your family or friends.
・Outdoor bath – The outdoor bath is kept at a moderate emperature, so you can stay for a long time without feeling uncomfortable. Your mind is put at ease, and it feels like you could stay inside forever. The lighting is dimmed during the night so you can fully enjoy the view of the night sky.

・Large bath – The large bath has a slight smell of sulfur. Come here to relax your tired bones.

   At Yuzu no Yado, you can stay the night as well as try some of the delicacies of Kitagawa Village at the attached restaurant. In the regional goods corner there are many products made from yuzu. We recommend the yuzu tea!

Directions: From Kochi Station, take the Gomen/Nahari Line on the Tosa Kuroshio Railway to Nahari Station (90 minutes) and take the village bus to Kitagawa Village Onsen (40 minutes). 90 minutes from the Nankoku IC by car.
