Here are brief explanations about three museums in Kochi about Ryoma.
Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial Museum
Houses easy-to-understand exhibits of valuable historical documents about Ryoma and explanations of his personality, achievements and his visions. The building is located near the Katsurahama beach and the observatory lends a panoramic view of the horizon and Pacific Ocean.
Open: 9a.m- 5p.m.
Directions: Get on a Kenkotsu bus bound for Katsurahama, then get off the Ryoma Kinenkan-mae stop and then walk one minute.
Entrance fee: ¥500 for 18 and older, free for high school and younger students, ¥400 for groups of 20 and over

The wooden museum includes eight exhibition zones in part of which you can experience moments in Ryoma’s life from his birth to dappan with virtual reality devices. It also provides locals and others with Japanese-style rooms and a display space for their use.

The museum offers realistic reproduction of his eventful thirty-three-year life and historic scenes associated with it using wax figures. It also has rooms that display figures of important persons from the Meiji era to the modern age, screen paintings by artist Ekin and sell Ryoma goods.
Open: 9a.m-5p.m (opens until 6p.m in July and August)
Directions: Get off at Noichi station in the Gomen-Nahari Line and walk 10minutes.
Entrance fee: ¥1050 for adults, ¥730 for college and high school students, ¥470 for junior and elementary school students
